Elementary Education:
The Elementary Education major, taken as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, requires 33 hours of coursework, plus 50 hours of professional education requirements and a semester of student teaching. Learn more in the Course Catalog in the Education section.
Secondary or P-12 Subjects with Teacher Licensure:
Candidates must complete a major in an approved subject area (Art, Biology, Chemistry, English, Health & Physical Education, Math, Music, Speech & Theater), additional professional education requirements and student teaching. Special Education Teacher Endorsement:
Students working towards licensure may also take a concentration in an approved special education program which would lead to licensing endorsement in adaptive special education. This endorsement requires 21 hours of coursework.
