Creativity Through Visual Arts and Design
Our Visual Arts program fosters creativity and offers a range of classes, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and graphic design. Students also have access to our on-campus gallery, which features rotating exhibits throughout the year.
Communication Arts
In Communication Arts, we focus on the development of media skills that are essential in today’s world. Our program includes courses in journalism, digital media, and film studies, and students gain practical experience through internships and other real-world opportunities.

English: Studies in Literature and Creative Writing
Our English department offers a wide range of literature and creative writing courses, which cultivate strong analytical and communication skills. Students in our Writing/Publishing minor gain hands-on production experience with Bethel’s literary magazine YAWP!
Languages
Studying languages opens doors to vibrant cultures and rich heritages worldwide. Through learning Spanish and German, students access diverse literature, music, films, philosophy, and scientific contributions, deepening their understanding of interconnected histories and traditions. Mastering these languages also offers valuable academic and professional opportunities while enhancing cultural appreciation and insight.
