Dr. Rachel Epp Buller, symposium organizer and Professor of Visual Arts and Design at Bethel College, regularly works across disciplines and creates platforms for community engagement. Her vision for the Walking the Talk faculty speaker series and related symposium stems from her current research on walking as a form of listening as well as from her partnership with Dr. Sheena Wilson as they research walking as a method of embodied climate response. Her art installation, One Hundred Days of Walking, was recently shortlisted for the Marŝarto international art prize and she is currently at work on a book manuscript, Listening as Artistic Practice: Essays and Invitations. She is a two-time Fulbright Scholar, a national board member of the Women’s Caucus for Art, a current member of the NAEA School for Art Leaders, and a certified practitioner in Deep Listening.
