Tim Swartzendruber began his job as athletic director on Oct. 16, 2023. Prior to beginning at Bethel, Swartzendruber was athletic director at Pratt (Kan.) Community College, 2019-23. His previous experiences include head men’s basketball coach and professor at McPherson (Kan.) College, head men’s basketball coach, head tennis coach and professor at Hesston (Kan.) College, and teacher and coach in the following public school districts: Kingman, Kan., Wellington, Kan., and Newton.
While a student at Bethel, Swartzendruber was a four-year letter winner in football and served as a resident assistant. As a fifth-year student, Swartzendruber was an assistant football coach and intramural director.
A native of Hesston, Swartzendruber is the father of three children, Tyler, Taylor and Kinley, and the proud grandfather of Mila and Xander. In his spare time, he enjoys attending sporting events, golf and spending time with his family.
