Ways to give

Your gift to the Bethel College Fund has the widest impact on campus life. This year’s goal for the fund is $1.35M. The Bethel College Fund ensures that the college remains strong, helping provide critical resources where tuition alone does not cover costs.

Areas supported include academic programs and faculty development, student scholarships and instructional resources, student life services, and much more. You can also direct your gift to a specific department or program.

Give a gift via credit card online

or send a check to:

Our online donation form lets you easily set up a monthly giving plan by credit card or bank transfer. Questions? Call 316-284-5250.

Many corporations match employee gifts to educational institutions. Check if your employer has a matching gift program.

Donor Advised Funds

Donor Advised Funds are a popular way to manage charitable giving. A DAF allows you to make a charitable contribution to a foundation, receive an immediate tax benefit, and then recommend grants from the fund over time. Use your Donor Advised Fund to make a gift to Bethel. It’s easy to initiate your gift using the link at the top of this page! Call 316-284-5250 with your questions.

Make a gift from your IRA. If you are 70-1/2 or older, you can instruct your IRA plan administrator to transfer funds directly from your IRA to Bethel College, excluding the donated amount from your taxable income while satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution for the year. Consult your plan administrator for more information about making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), or contact Director of Development George Leary.

Stock and Real Estate gifts

Gifts of stocks, bonds, or certificates of deposit can be transferred to Bethel by your broker or investment advisor. This is a tax-wise way of supporting the college. Call Greta Hiebert at 316-284-5250 to initiate a stock transfer.

Bethel also welcomes gifts of land or property. Contact George Leary to discuss how your real estate can benefit the college.

Other non-cash gifts

Works of art, vehicles, musical instruments, and rare books are just some examples of non-cash gifts that can help the college while providing a tax benefit to you. Such in-kind gifts must be directly related to our institutional mission, and items valued at $5,000 or more require a qualified appraisal to be eligible for a tax deduction. For more information, contact George Leary.

We gladly accept gifts of commodities such as grain or the sale of grain. Instruct the elevator to write a check to Bethel College (include your name and a sale ticket or receipt). Or, designate an amount of grain to be held at an elevator for Bethel, notify the development office, and we will direct the sale.

Dillons Community Rewards

Dillons/Kroger grocery stores will donate a percentage of your purchases to your selected charity through their Community Rewards Program. Create or log in to your Dillons account and search for Bethel College either by name or as “BT171.” Once you link your Shopper’s Card to your account, your purchases will benefit Bethel automatically when you present your Shopper’s Card at checkout.

Sign up for a Bethel College Visa Card through Intrust Bank. Six different options allow you to build credit, pay down balances, and earn rewards, while a percentage of your purchases supports Bethel. Apply for one here!

Scholarships and Endowments

Scholarships may be established in honor of a family member or beloved friend. Sometimes alumni establish scholarships to honor a professor who shaped their lives. Scholarships help Bethel recruit students in specific areas of study. A new endowed scholarship requires $50,000 in initial funds. Contact George Leary to discuss your options.
