Connect To Purpose

Academics

Connect faith and learning to view questions and dilemmas from multiple perspectives.

Gather as a community regularly for convocations and lectures on issues relevant to Bethel in particular or society at large.

Engage in intellectual and faithful reflection as you ask speakers to elaborate on items that pique your interest.

See things not just for what they are, but for what they might be – and gain new perspectives.

Discover who you are, what you stand for and how you will make a difference through exposure to ideas and experts.

  • 1960: Martin Luther King Jr. spoke on “The Future of Integration” in Memorial Hall.
  • 1967: Bart Starr, quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, spoke at the athletic boosters’ Buffalo BBQ.
  • 2009: Convocation speakers included Sister Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking, and Wayne Simien, of 2006 NBA champions the Miami Heat.

What kind of lectures are there?

Hear from a wide variety of outside speakers through the various lecture series.
